Yangon Photo Gallery
Capital City of a country in transformation.
The traditional is slowly making space to the modern. You see it in the buildings and the style of the young people, you see it on TV and read it on the Newspapers : Change is here and unavoidable.
Therefore, in Yangon, you find an interesting mix of the old and the new co-existing alongside, which gives a very interesting context for Street Photography. Indeed Yangon street photography is part of the best of Myanmar travel photography.
Yangon streets are perfect frames for Travel Photography : Golden pagodas, old colourful colonial buildings, street food and tea shops, parks… Burmese, Indians, Chinese. Buddhists, Sikhs or Hindus, muslims… There is a wide mix of culture in the different neighbourhoods of the City, offering a rich diversity of faces for great travel Portraits and storytellings.
Moreover, like most of the other Asian countries, people eat outside in the street shops so beside giving a real anima to the city, it creates easy opportunities to connect with the locals.
Then, the Life of the city still evolves mostly around the spiritual life and the several pagodas within the Capital. Obviously, this gives a never ending subject for the photographer but also the starting point for understanding the deep roots of the Burmese Culture.
All features that make Yangon photos absolutely captivating and unique. In any case, Yangon is truely a fascinating city to discover for both cultural tourism and travel photography, obviously.
