Skoura, the green Queen of the desert.
In a Morocco travel photography or Landscape photography tour, Skoura is definitely unmissable. After the caotic exotism of the teeming citadels, the hectic sounds of thousands of people sharing small and narrow streets or other crowds gathered daily on the central square around musicians, snake charmers, monkey tamers and more, Skoura is a little heaven in the desert.
Peaceful, authentic, traditional and absolutely exotic too! Imagine a green oasis of lushing palms trees surrounding antic towered fortresses. These high-walled fortresses, called Kasbah, are made of local clay and straw and have the most refined design and patterns. Depending on the time of the day, the Kasbah offers a whole pannel of warm colors, turning from yellow to orange to redish or even pink, with the Light. Totally enchanting!!
The travel photographer might certainly sleep only a few hours because after a full day of photography, (s)he will most probably be willing to take star photography on such a magical frame, as well as Skoura photos by dawn. For us, the winter lights were so delicate in each moment of the day that it has been pretty hard to leave, sincerely.
Absolutely exotic, Skoura could have easily been one the inspirational place for the setting of The Thousand and One Nights Tale. Enchantress, singular, traditional, out of time, peaceful and absolutely mesmerizing. Skoura is a place where the wind whispers exotic tales to the traveller’s ears and carries the power of inspiration…
Undoubtedly, for the travel photographer, Skoura photos are among the best ones to include in a travel & landscape photography portfolio of Morocco.
